Sphemie rotates its flat, star-shaped body at impressive speeds to propel itself through the water, and even to roll sideways across dry land. At night, one can even see a faint light pulsing from beneath the skin on its blubbery core as it spins.
People in ancient times imagined that Sphemie were transformed from the reflections of stars that twinkled on gentle waves at night. It is completely covered with plushy fur.
