The tails of Gorethorn act as roots, absorbing nutrients from the ground while it hibernates. Gorethorn will gorge itself if buried surrounded by plant life, leaving the surrounding land decimated come spring.
They attach themselves to cave ceilings, firing steel spikes at targets passing beneath them. A Gorethorn siphons the body fluids of prey through its thin, tubular mouth.
