Surkip frequently frolic and dance during rain, while secreting a fragrant honey from the tops of their heads. When the rain ends, their honey becomes less odorous and takes on the scent of rainwater until they rest.

On land, it can powerfully lift large boulders by planting its four feet and heaving. They gather on puddles after evening downpours, gliding across the surface of water as if sliding.
