Swampass are averse to water exposure, instead preferring to roll around and lie in fresh mud to stay hydrated. They seem to be aware of impending storms, as they will head for clearings and look to the sky with mouths agape to drink up the rain.

Its body emits a powerful magnetism. If it senses the approach of a storm and a tidal wave, it protects its seaside nest by piling up boulders.
