Swampts lives in muddy areas, typically at the bottom of swamps. On the occasions it comes out from the water, it uses psychic powers to keep a shield of mud around itself at all time.

Swampts soaks itself in muddy water to meditate. The more mud it coats on its body, the stronger its telekinesis becomes.

A Swampts has the power to sense the emotions of people and Pokémon with the horns on its head. If it senses the approach of a storm and a tidal wave, it protects its seaside nest by piling up boulders.
