Some history books speculate that the circus act of jumping through rings of fire was inspired by a Torchtine. When this Pokémon leaps out of the water, it leaves a ring of fire behind where it exited the water, though the fire quickly goes out.
On sunny days, schools of Torchtine can be seen elegantly leaping over the waves. If attacked, it strikes back by spitting balls of fire it forms in its stomach.
