After hatching, Treechic's flame sac quickly develops and begins producing heat, keeping Treechic warm as their parents forage for food. Within a few days, they develop tiny hooks on their talons, allowing them to scale vertical surfaces with ease.

If attacked, it strikes back by spitting balls of fire it forms in its stomach. It makes its nest in a giant tree in the forest.
