Walpert are excellent swimmers, able to swim through even thick, icy waves. They've been seen punching through deep layers of ice just to get into water.
If it senses the approach of a storm and a tidal wave, it protects its seaside nest by piling up boulders. To protect its herd, the leader battles anything that invades its territory, even at the cost of its life.
