Flatu generate heat within their fur as they hop about or leap with their wings. When they build up enough heat, they can breathe fire. They are prone to staring into fire, which some believe helps them to focus their minds.
It runs up short trees that grow on the savanna to peck at new shoots. Flatu's fluffy fur releases heat into the air so that its body does not get excessively hot.
