Its eyes are covered in a special film that protects them as it digs through sand, dirt, or rock. It can curl up to defend itself, its tensed hide being tough enough to repel some attacks, and uses its tail stinger to strongly jab at foes.
When it curls up in a ball, it can make any attack bounce off harmlessly. A Beeshrew is extremely territorial.
