Sunsaur are dark brown because the chlorophyll is absorbed by the seedling on their back. They fiercely protect the seedling on their back because they are unable to process nutrients if it becomes damaged.
Sunsaur can be seen napping in bright sunlight. Sunsaur try to minimize movement to conserve the nutrients they have stored in their bodies for evolution.
