Gabnub aggressively hunt through shallow soil and scree around cliff faces, using their acute sense of smell to hone in on food. When they find something they think they can eat, they bite at their prey and try to wrestle it underground.

It roots for food by rubbing its snout against the ground. There is a long-held belief that medicine made from its scales will heal even incurable illnesses.
