The half-ring floating with Arcshrew can generate a barrier of light to protect itself. When Arcshrew rolls into a ball, the ring creates an even larger circular barrier around it, making its rolling charge that much more powerful.
When it curls up in a ball, it can make any attack bounce off harmlessly. It is described in mythology as the Pokémon that shaped the universe with its 1,000 arms.
