It is often mistaken for a Torchic, even up close, which allows it to blend in with flocks of Torchic and steal some of their food. What usually causes its identity to be revealed is that it will spit out warm bubbles when it is happy.
If attacked, it strikes back by spitting balls of fire it forms in its stomach. Because it is very proud, it hates accepting food from people.
