Amashrew are desert Pokémon that are primarily active at night, not for the darkness but for the lower temperatures. They are inherently curious and will approach others, though if they feel threatened they will curl up into balls.
Amashrew burrow into the ground with their icy claws to make a safe place to store food. When they are not gathering food, they wander the snowy forests they live in searching for playmates.
When it curls up in a ball, it can make any attack bounce off harmlessly. This ancient Pokémon was restored from part of its body that had been frozen in ice for over 100 million years.
