Suncargo gather soil atop their back, binding it to themselves with sticky mucus. They use the soil to grow small plants. Researchers speculate that this behaviour helps them camouflage themselves and avoid predators.
The shell on its back is made of hardened magma. Suncargo try to minimize movement to conserve the nutrients they have stored in their bodies for evolution.
