Surchop's body secretes a sticky syrup to ensure prey doesn't escape its grasp. Larger Pokémon have been observed tossing Surchop at boulders and displaying signs of amusement as Surchop briefly sticks to the rock.
It continually undertakes strenuous training to master all forms of martial arts. They gather on puddles after evening downpours, gliding across the surface of water as if sliding.
