Swampcargo trawl through the mud in deep lakes, stirring up sediment in their search for food. Their presence helps prevent the lake from stagnating, and the bubbles that escape from their shell re-oxygenate the water above them.

The shell on its back is made of hardened magma. If it senses the approach of a storm and a tidal wave, it protects its seaside nest by piling up boulders.
