Swisaur rely on their sense of smell to navigate, so their eyes are partly underdeveloped. They have learned to distinguish many scents, starting with the sweet scents of their large flowers.

Swisaur's flower is said to take on vivid colors if it gets plenty of nutrition and sunlight. It roots for food by rubbing its snout against the ground.
