Many Swirwhirl end up as a tasty snack for hungry Pokémon because of their soft, sweet bodies. To avoid being eaten, Swirwhirl fills the stomachs of hungry Pokémon with sugary water until their hunger is gone.
When on land, Swirwhirl secretes a sticky, sweet-smelling fluid that helps it regulate its temperature. When in the water, the fluid dissolves slowly, leaving a pink-tinted trail.
Its body surface is always wet and slick with an oily fluid. To entangle its opponents in battle, it extrudes white threads as sweet and sticky as cotton candy.
