Ever autumn, Swirchic shed older feathers to make room for new ones, with the sheddings collected to be used as a topping for ice cream and other desserts. These feathers are very sweet and the taste has often been compared to Shuckle juice.

If attacked, it strikes back by spitting balls of fire it forms in its stomach. To entangle its opponents in battle, it extrudes white threads as sweet and sticky as cotton candy.
