It catches hot air from the flames around its neck with its long wing-like ears to glide. Before hunting, it must first seek out somewhere with high elevation to leap from in order to have plenty of time to soar and search for prey.
Rather than keeping a permanent lair, it habitually seeks comfortable spots and sleeps there. In the fever of an exciting battle, it showers embers from the gaps between its feathers and takes to the air.
