Spores from Talonsect's mushroom fall onto its wings and coat its feathers. When it flaps fiercely at foes, the spores ignite and cause the flames Talonsect produces to have poisonous capabilities.

Talonsect are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. In the fever of an exciting battle, it showers embers from the gaps between its feathers and takes to the air.
