It is closely related to Smearcruel and is believed to be similar, if not exactly the same species. These two Pokémon both engage in similar territorial battles, using ink as a means to claim territory and attack.
A Tentagle marks its territory using a fluid that leaks out from the tip of its tail. It lives in complex rock formations on the ocean floor and traps prey using its 80 tentacles.
