By squeezing the tip of its tail, Venoferno can expel a noxious gas. Depending on how hard Venoferno squeezes, the effects of inhaling this gas can range from brief wooziness to immediate unconsciousness.
To intimidate attackers, it stretches the fire on its tail to make itself appear bigger. Its coat of thin, stiff hair that covers its entire body is said to have evolved for protection.
