Volcaran can channel heat through their vibrant wings and mandibles; they char food within their mandibles moments before consuming it. Because they do not hibernate in winter, they rely on their venomous horns to ward off predators instead.

The male Nidoran has developed muscles that freely move its ears in any direction. A sea of fire engulfs the surroundings of their battles, since they use their six wings to scatter their ember scales.
