Tunnels dug by Voltnix are always very large in diameter, as any obstacle or wall it hits could easily set it off. Each body segment of Voltnix individually goes off when it explodes, making them overly destructive and dangerous.

There is a magnet in its brain that prevents an Voltnix from losing direction while tunneling. It bears an uncanny and unexplained resemblance to a Pok? Ball.
