When threatened, Woonyte withdraws into its shell. Its gills are too large to fit in with the rest of it, so they have developed a poisonous film that they excrete onto their gills, causing nerve damage to anything that tries to attack it.
One of the ancient and long-since-extinct Pokémon that have been regenerated from fossils by humans. Woonyte usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally.
