Bruxlurk can stand totally motionless, using its bright coloration to blend in with coral reefs. When its flower-shaped crest senses another Pokémon approaching, Bruxlurk will try to grab it with its powerful arms, but it often isn't fast enough.

It is said that Bruxlurk were ordered to protect people and Pokémon by the ancient people who made them. When it unleashes its psychic power from the protuberance on its head, the grating sound of grinding teeth echoes through the area.
