Whether in the water or out, Chinbone guides others to safety with illuminating light. Underwater it uses the bulbs on its cranium, while on land it uses a secretion it covers its bone club with that glows in the dark.
Chinbone communicate with each other by touching their glowing electrical bulbs together; when these bulbs touch, they produce bright flashes. Their golden clubs conduct electricity better than most other materials.
It pines for the mother it will never see again. When it senses danger, it discharges positive and negative electricity from its two antennae.
