Cusand takes on the appearance of a friendly sanctum for small Pokémon to gather under for safety. Its extreme loneliness makes it very clingy, however, so those that enter beneath its skull dome are not allowed to leave.

Cusand are used as a camp ground for Cubones to rest. However, despite originally being believed to be created by the Cubones, Cusand are an actual living Pokémon.

Buried beneath the castle are masses of dried-up bones from those whose vitality it has drained. It pines for the mother it will never see again.
