It uses its large and nimble ears to cool its body down, as well as to listen. The spines on its back deliver a burning poison to anything that touches them.
The male Nidoran has developed muscles that freely move its ears in any direction. Flaran's fluffy fur releases heat into the air so that its body does not get excessively hot.
