Tucking its body into its shell and leaving its tail out, Hitmontortle will rapidly spin and launch itself at an opponent. Even if the foe manages to dodge the main body, the tail whipping around is certain to make contact and damage the opponent.

Its large tail is covered with rich, thick fur that deepens in color with age. Its technique of kicking while spinning is a remarkable mix of both offense and defense.
