Hordle live in dense kelp forests, crawling through the vegetation both to hide within and as a feeding ground. They are slow swimmers, but using the fin on their back they perform elaborate mating dances with one another.

A Hordle has an extremely acute sense of smell. By cleverly flicking the fins on its back side to side, it moves in any direction while facing forward.
