Magishrew are completely unable to swim and have been known to drown if unsupervised near water. Magishrew are rumoured to be extinct in the wild, however, so many are kept by Trainers for their appearance that they are not listed as endangered.
When it curls up in a ball, it can make any attack bounce off harmlessly. Its swimming muscles are weak, so it is easily washed away by currents.
