Marshphox gather sea foam and mix it with the mucus they secrete, creating a slime-like substance. They use this substance to draw esoteric symbols on seaside cliffs, which get washed away in the next tide. The purpose of this behavior is unknown.

It gazes into the flame at the tip of its branch to achieve a focused state, which allows it to see into the future. Its toughened hind legs enable it to stand upright.
