Nidopod's poisonous pins are thin and easily broken; unwary or impatient predators can easily wind up with a mouthful of toxic spines. Supposedly, ninjas would use these discarded spines on clandestine missions.
Its shell is as hard as an iron slab. Its highly toxic barbs are thought to have developed as protection for this small-bodied Pokémon.
