Groups of Nidochic spend their days playing together while their mother keeps watch nearby. When predators approach the nest, the young defend themselves by spitting fireballs or scratching with their toxic horns before retreating to safety.
If attacked, it strikes back by spitting balls of fire it forms in its stomach. Its highly toxic barbs are thought to have developed as protection for this small-bodied Pokémon.
