To help the parents take care of their siblings, Nidochic will opt to take solid foods and soften them using its fiery breath. Despite this Pokémon's innate toxic levels, Nidochic has been found to make a great babysitter and protector.

If attacked, it strikes back by spitting balls of fire it forms in its stomach. When it is with its friends or family, its barbs are tucked away to prevent injury.
