Paratias can communicate telepathically with people they scatter their spores on. Until those spores are washed off, these people will experience a compulsion to gather up rotting plants and bring them to Paratias to eat.

They make a small herd of only several members. Paratias are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
