The fungus on top of Paragross's hardened carapace has an unusual crystalline structure. A mycelial network inside Paragross's body forms connections between its four brains, and it seems that they communicate with each other through the fungus.

Paragross has four brains that are joined by a complex neural network. Paragross are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
