Phantcoon protect their soft, developing bodies by anchoring bark to themselves using a dark-colored silk. They feed energy into the wooden shell, encouraging the wood to continue growing around them.
It prepares for evolution using the energy it stored while it was a Wurmple. These Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died in the forest.
