Polichic are better swimmers than walkers due to their underdeveloped leg muscles. They launch themselves onto land if they can't outswim aquatic predators. They fire Ember attacks to keep predators at bay until it's safe to return to the water.

If attacked, it strikes back by spitting balls of fire it forms in its stomach. It is possible to see this Pokémon's spiral innards right through its thin skin.
