Qwilicate live in small family groups in brackish waters, digging out dens underneath mangrove roots. The largest member of the pack often physically blocks the entrance of their den. This blockage is accomplished by inflating their body with water.

A Qwilicate's sturdy fangs grow steadily. A Qwilicate uses the pressure of water it swallows to shoot toxic quills all at once from all over its body.
