Using its crystalline eyes, Auroeye can create invisible barriers as hard as rock to block opponent's attacks. It uses this to protect itself from humans and their Pokémon as it raids mines searching for gems to eat.
It digs branching holes in caves using its sharp claws in search of food--raw gems. Using its diamond-shaped crystals, it can instantly create a wall of ice to block an opponent's attack.
