Although they have a steel core, both of Delink's gears are covered with soft fluffy fur. When they interlock, rather then the turning of cogs it looks and sounds more like Delink is simple stroking its own fur.
Interlocking two bodies and spinning around generates the energy they need to live. Rather than keeping a permanent lair, it habitually seeks comfortable spots and sleeps there.
