Once it has found a vein of ore to mine, Lairmy is very territorial. It will rely on its iron armor for protection and try to push away any Pokémon that intrude, although it moves so slowly that it is easy to just move around it.

Its source of protection is its slimy, germ-laden mucous membrane. When two Lairmy meet in the wild, they fight for territory by bashing into each other with their steel bodies.
