Rather than swimming, Manking prefer to float face down in the water and use the cape on their back to catch the wind like a sail. If Manking spot food in the water below, they will quickly reach down to grab it.

Hordes of Manking gather around trees when fruits come into season. On sunny days, schools of Manking can be seen elegantly leaping over the waves.
