After shedding its heavy shell, Minikarp becomes much more maneuverable. While it is also more vulnerable to attack, Minikarp can swim fast enough to leap out of the water to avoid attacks and jump up waterfalls.

Its swimming muscles are weak, so it is easily washed away by currents. Originally making its home in the ozone layer, it hurtles to the ground when the shell enclosing its body grows too heavy.
