Although Onsey's body and the egg it carries are covered by a shell of rock, this stone is brittle and easy to crack. While this is useful when sharing its eggs with others, wild Onsey are often covered by cracks that slowly heal over time.

Onsey lay nutritionally excellent eggs every day. There is a magnet in its brain that prevents an Onsey from losing direction while tunneling.
